train to odel

Back in Full Effect – It’s been incredibly busy lately and I just had to put the blog down to stay on top of things. In the last two weeks, I’ve shot for three new clients including American Airlines and I shot twice for Portland Monthly. With AA, I shot some famous architecture sites for their magazine American Way. If you happen to be flying around September 15, look for a travel story on Portland’s architecture.

I also somehow managed to redesign the website for CHP Media ( during all this. I do maybe 4 websites a year including my own and Lauren’s. It was great to work with Chaz and CHP and if you need to press an CD or DVD, go with these guys.

About this shot, Lauren, her mom, and I took the Mt. Hood Express excursion train to Odel, OR. Shooting from a train is generally tough because you have to shoot pretty fast to stop motion. Fortunately, it was an slow old steam train leisurely chugging through Oregon Pear Country. I was able to get enough DOF to make the building sharp.
