No, it doesn’t shoot B&W. Nor does it shoot film. All the previous H series have been equipped with film/digital interchangeable backs. Since this is a dedicated digital system, the machining of the pieces are much more precise and so you get a better image. You also have firmware on board that fixes problems with most digital back systems (moire for one).
