It’s amazing how you can have the most amazing location, scenery, road access, and if one thing dries up, the town dies. Cascade Locks is a beautiful place surrounded by sadness. Maybe the root of this is the lack of purpose since the “locks” no longer exist. In a town of just over a 1000, 20% live below the poverty line. There’s nothing to do there but get gas or go over the toll bridge to Washington.
