Monster

This shot will always remind me of a friend I once had who became a monster. He is soft-spoken, intelligent, and seemingly kind; he has all the ingredients to be a great friend. But as I got to know him, I learned he was not someone I could stand by. He drinks heavily and ignores his problems. He shirks responsibility for his family and marriage. He puts more into his drinking buddies than his friends, who care for him and would love him unconditionally.

I don’t see the man I met anymore. I see a monster out of control.

I hope someday he learns to tame the beast.
