This was the first photograph I took that made me feel like I had something as an artist. Talent can only get you so far, if you don't feel like an artist. I struggled a lot with photography and never felt happy in what I was shooting. I was trying to say something. To capture a feeling. To show the world how I see things. This shot sums that it up.
What you do see:
A character towering above, but not in a menacing way
A playful composition of fun shapes an textures
Light that makes this facade look like it was carved from stone
What you don't see:
The Vegas strip
The awkwardness of daytime gambling
The excitement of maybe winning it big

I look for moments like these because they ground me into the present.
