2016 in Review

Wow, where does the time go! This is my first “Year in Review” since 2011. Why the long drought? Well, the biggest change was that we welcomed our firstborn, Odin, in December of 2012. Two years later, came his sister Teagan in December of 2014. Three short months later, we moved back to Virginia to...

Play by Play of a Full Day Interior Design Photo Shoot

Saul Zaik is well known architect that’s famous for his Pacific Northwest take on mid-century modern design. He’s been practicing architecture since 1952 and I was lucky enough to photograph a Jessica Helgerson Interior Design remodel of one of his houses in the West Hills of Portland, OR. For a different take on my typical blog post, I...

Beatiful house and photos! (And a nice Porsche 911!!:) ) But I have one question, do you know what kind of lamp is hanging on the wall in the family room? And maby which brand its from. I saw the same lamp in a cafe some time ago.
      Thanks.ReplyCancel

Thanks, not sure of the lamp. It’s hard to keep up with those kinds of details when you’re just shooting for one day.ReplyCancel

      Love. Love. Love.
As always I’m just a fanboy loving your work.

Would enjoy seeing more of your process in post with compositing vs hdr. As a real estate photog primarily I don’t get the leeway of more than maybe 90 minutes on site. With that, not looking for an easier process but one that I can get better results in the limited shooting time. Plus, hdr is so hit and miss with the color variations in rooms.

      Cheers! Look forward to more.ReplyCancel

Thanks for the great idea. I’ll try that out the next time I process a job and blog the results.ReplyCancel

Okay, I can understand. But thanks for the reply anyway.ReplyCancel

    Victorian Kitchen

Happy Thanksgiving Eve Everyone! I finally have a breather after what’s been an incredibly busy fall. It’s been too long since my last blog bust, but it feels good to be back. I have a major backlog of work to share, so subscribe to my RSS to get the latest and greatest. I figured since...

Back to Back Cover Features for GRAY

After a little blogging hiatus, it feels good to be writing again about what I’ve been up to lately. Got some good stuff in the queue covering personal work, photo business stuff, and lots of tearsheets. In fact, here are two cover features for GRAY Magazine that just ran back to back December/January and February/March....

    Gothic Office

It’s my belief that for a happy life, the environment you work in is almost as important as the home you live in. Back in my web design days, I worked in tiny rectangular office with at an industrial park with 6 dudes jammed together in cheap desks while our boss could supervise us from his...

      Cover of GRAY Magazine #2

The newest architecture and design magazine to highlight the Pacific Northwest has certainly been generating a lot of buzz. Almost all my clients asked me about GRAY Magazine as soon as it hit their desks. And I can see why. It’s a really well designed magazine that is photo heavy with great articles. It’s also printed on...

Twenty Eleven – A Year of Work

I’m a little late for an end of year review, but here it is none the less. Speaking purely from a financial point of view, 2011 was a lot like 2010 in that it was way better than 2009, but not quite as good as 2008. However, the photographs I created in 2011 are some of...

Amazing work and quite a range. I found your site looking for examples of modern architecture for a remodel we are doing on our home in the Puget Sound area. As a Realtor, I appreciate all of your stunning interior home shots, something we do not see enough of in real estate listings.

          Here’s to a productive (and fun) 2012!ReplyCancel

So Gemütlich! – Cover Feature for 20 Private Wohnträume

I am huge in Germany. Just kidding, but I am pretty stoked to have the cover feature for the November/December 2011 issue of 20 Private Wohnträume. The magazine picked up the photos I shot for Jessica Helgerson of this Mid Century Remodel in Portland. It’s been one of my favorite shoots and the work from it...
