At Home Lifestyle Shoot – Prometheus Real Estate Group

Prometheus - I Am Home

I love my job. I love the work I do and I love the clients I work with. And every shoot is fun because of its inherit challenges: technical, logistical, creative.  That being said, I love shooting personal work and it’s not often you get hired to shoot personal work for a commercial client.

That’s just what Owen Jones & Partners asked me to do for their client Prometheus Real Estate Group. Though I have shot architecturally for Prometheus, art director Craig Skinner and producer Michelle Majeski wanted me to approach the little life moments that happen around the Prometheus properties. To get a variety of feelings and mood, we shot in Portland, Seattle, and the Bay Area of California over the course of 4 days. In the end, I delivered 75 shots for their image library and 4 still life shots that are being used on the home page Promethues’s website.

The shoot was a huge success and a lot of fun to do. Prometheus was so happy, the even blogged about it on their website. Here are some of my favorite shots from the shoot. [Read more…] about At Home Lifestyle Shoot – Prometheus Real Estate Group

Residential Remodels Photographed for The Works

It’s been pretty busy summer here at LB Photo. Some great editorial work is coming out soon, but in the meantime I thought I’d recap some recent commercial work.

The Works is an amazing contractor and remodeler based in Portland, OR. They’ve been responsible for making some of the wonderful glamourous interiors designed by Jessica Helgerson come to life.  They recently hired me to shoot some of their own work and it was a pleasure to photograph. Here are some of my favorite shots from two shoots we did this summer.

Parliament Interiors

Back in my early web design days, I worked in this tiny 800 square foot office with five other guys whose ages ranged from 21 to 60. Our wood laminate desks were back to back in rows, so you felt isolated even though you were two feet away. We had a white drop ceiling with fluorescent lighting and two windows that didn’t open. It was also in a loud industrial park for a phone company. Needless to say, it was a miserable place to work, but it was my first “real” job, so what did I know.

Fast forward 11 years when I go to meet Chris Erickson at his top notch design firm’s office in the OMCC Building. My jaw just dropped. Parliament is an amazing space and I was just blown away by how cool it was. If my office looked this good back then, I would never have quit.

The space is true a reflection of Parliament’s aesthetic of quality, clean design, and superb execution. A lot of thought went behind every detail in the spaces all spearheaded by Chris’s great design sense and collaboration with master carpenter Kyle Sharp. Everything from the slat walls to the pizza oven work table was crafted with amazing amount of care and effort. I really had a great time shooting the interiors and think we got some really good stuff. Check it out:

Bergren Rameson’s Paper Project

LRB_090625_0143

I first met the incredibly gifted stylist Bergren Rameson last year on a shoot for Home magazine. I was amazed by how easy she made propping look with such fantastic results. We were shooting a house for a holiday issue and Bergren put together and fully decorated a 12-ft Christmas Tree in about and hour and half. Absolutely amazing to watch a pro in action. Her excellent taste, sense of style, and great personality have led to gigs for big brand names such as Target, Williams-Sonoma, Martha Stewart Living, Pottery Barn, and many more. Visit her website at www.bergrenrameson.com to see her work.

Last week, I had to pleasure to photograph a personal still life project for Bergren in my studio. Everything you see here is handmade and styled by Bergen. She’s definitely got the gift and I look forward to many more collaborations with her in the future.
