Back to Portland Oregon

Exactly 4 years and one day after I made the announcement I was leaving Portland, OR for Charlottesville, VA I drafted this post. What makes that remarkable is that today… I am announcing that my family and I are officially moving back to Portland, OR! We’ll be back in PDX early this June of 2019....

Tailoring Thomas – Portland Monthly November 2013

Here is a really cool shoot I did for last month’s issue of Portland Monthly. Thomas Lauderdale, of Pink Martini fame, has this amazing house/building right in downtown Portland. It recently went through a huge restoration and remodel led by artist and designer Philip Iosca. It’s a pretty stunning place to call home, but I...

    Meet Wildwood Again

Wildwood Restaurant is an iconic farm to table fine dining establishment in Portland that’s recently gone through a wonderful rebirth thanks to restauranteur Cana Flug of Besaw’s fame. I first met Cana when she hired me to shoot an image library for Besaw’s. I loved the shots I got from that shoot and working with...

Good stuff! I like the service shots. You captured a good essence of service while still keeping it classy and showing off the goods. Hope to see more of this kind of work from you. This is the style in which I want to shoot myself, I’m inspired.ReplyCancel

    JHL Design Featured in GRAY

Also from the December/January issue of GRAY, a shoot I did for JHL Design got the glossy treatment with this six page spread. The double truck kitchen shot looked killer in print. I was really happy for JHL to get published. I shot  quite  a few projects for them last year and Holly and Jasmine...

Iconic Photos of Portland for the Nike Community Store

[portfolio_slideshow] Special slideshow post! Click on the photo to advance. About a month ago, I was commissioned by Instrument to shoot stills alongside a film production crew on a project highlighting the remodel of the Nike Community Store on Martin Luther King Jr Blvd in Portland, OR. But this project wasn’t just another commercial gig. There’s a great story...

          Portland Monthly July 2011 – Season’s Eatings

Man, do I love shooting food. I love it almost as much as eating it. And I feel really lucky because there’s no shortage of truly great food in Portland. In fact, the most difficult thing about food here is deciding what to eat. That’s why this story by Allison Jones was so great to...

            Fantastic!
I love that you’ve shared how a photographer deals with art direction & comes up with solutions on the spot. The photographs are amazing.ReplyCancel

Oregon Home – Houseboat Cover & Feature

If you’ve never been to Portland, you might not know of the copious amounts of houseboat communities. For this cover story for Oregon Home magazine, I got to visit three communites in the area. Each one was very different with it’s own set of character and charm. One common thread between them all, really nice...

            The Backyard

It’s finally sort of becoming summer around here. Still have cool temps, but at least it’s stopped raining every day. We had something like 14 inches of rain between April & May. Our average is 7 for that same time period. On the bright side, all our plants and garden are very happy this year....

Portland Monthly May 2011 – Rich Living

The May 2011 Portland Monthly is out and there is a great feature story I shot of Andy Ricker’s place in SE Portland. Ricker, the restaurateur responsible for Pok Pok, Ping, Whiskey Soda Lounge, and, Pok Pok Noi; has one of the coolest bachelor pads I’ve ever seen. Designed by Andee Hess of Osmose, the space has a ton...

                Wow,

Great looking place. The wood flooring and panels look amazing and compliment the furniture very well. The lighting fixtures are a lot of fun, from the two in the living room to the ones in bathroom. His place is really warm and welcoming. The plants really add personality to bPad.

                Solid work,
